Facebook XMMP - Don't you think its time for Facebook IM?

You gotta admit if you are a regular facebooker that if you've ever
tried to chat with someone its reliability is flaky at best. This got
me thinking facebook already have a jump start on the instant
messaging game.

Yes google have tried it and had moderate success, but I think its
time facebook got officially in the im game. Something that can be
taken off facebook with some facebook integration, and yes I know
there are 3rd party apps which bridges that gap but its still hitching
off facebooks flaky chat api.

With facebook connect making great inroads last year facebook is
becoming a part of our life just like IM. Now its time the bring them
both together in an open manner something portable and open like XMMP.

Wouldn't hurt to borrow some ideas from google wave and really take
socialising the web to the next level.

Maybe they want drugs - The Knights Who Say YAY!

Download now or listen on posterous
yay-edited.mp3 (1056 KB)

Do you get anyone that says annoying words?

Well maybe this is one of them.

Let them know exactly what they are asking for.

And personally I don't know if one who can't spell a word as simple as
that correctly should be involved in print media at any level.

YAY!

HAHA

For a bit of fun: I'm not drunk

Download now or listen on posterous
alcohol.mp3 (920 KB)

I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but when I slow down my
voice but keep the pitch the same, it sounds like i'm drunk.

I just doubled the time in audition. And here is the end result.

I did speak correctly when I recorded the dry voice over. :)

Community Radio - Unproductive members

And of course all stations want productive volunteers but there are
occasions where there will be members that go against the best
interests of the station. If the volunteer responds to rational its
not a problem, however its not always the case. I think one needs to
give them some time away, suspend their membership if they continue to
be a problem revoke their membership. If they progress even further
than that the next step would to seek legal advice and proceed down
that road for the most extreme cases.

I mean I'm sure a lot of stations have problems getting members and
volunteers, I think you need to cut the dead wood and make it a stress
free environment as possible, time wasters, people that would rather
complain with frivolous complaints that lack accurate factual details
just waste time.

I'd like to know stories where other community stations have had this
sort of problem and how they have managed to overcome it.

Is there a point where you have had to tell a member they could no
longer be involved ?
